Using the library

Posted by in Students

Dear students, We wish you all a happy start to the academic year and have provided important updates on library hours and services for this year.

Library Hours: Monday-Thursday: 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday: 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday closed.

Booking study space:
Study space reservation using the library’s RSVP calendar on KIRO is available to all current students on a ‘first-come, first-served basis.

Space is currently limited to 59 seats, therefore during the week (Monday-Friday) priority will be given to those students who attend labs on campus and cannot make it home during the one-hour window in their schedule to participate in their next virtual lab. No priority in space booking on Saturdays: first come, first served.

We would ask you to honor these terms so that students in real need of the study space due to commuting are able to book it. Please note that Student Services may cross-check your addresses to ensure that everybody complies with our protocol. As a reminder, you are required to use assigned seating and your earphones, and wipe down the workstations and surfaces before and after use.

You must stay in the library during the time slot you have reserved and cancel your booking online in case your plans have changed. Please also note that the library currently does not support collaborative work and peer tutoring.

Access to print collections & printing: Browsing and printing and photocopying services can only be used if a study space is booked. In other cases, please direct your requests for print books via email  and Library Staff will arrange pickup. Anatomical models are currently removed from circulation.

Remote Access to E-Resources: All library e-Resources are accessible remotely as well as on campus. In KIRO 2.0, find the Library in your dashboard and use any of the E-resources links provided. If prompted, use your CMCC email/network login for remote authentication. Many app versions of our resources require initial activation while at CMCC. Complete activation instructions for each resource are given in our E-Resources pages in KIRO 2.0. Please note that this plan is to keep with social distancing requirements, and opening up spaces and times further is under constant review. Problems, Questions, Issues: contact us at We are looking forward to seeing you in the library!
