Congratulations to the Class of 2020, members of which have officially come to the end of their studies. In lieu of in-person awards this year, CMCC prepared a presentation for recipients , the CMCC Graduation Awards. CMCC’s Special Events was pleased to introduce the first virtual event last Wednesday, May 6: “CMCC’s Virtual Workout: Yoga with Yoga Light Studio!” The class took place over Zoom with instructor Amanda Vitaro, who took 63 of us through a range of poses to help us unwind and relax. Her class focused on relieving tension and tightness in the neck, back and hips, building strength in the whole body, and using breathing techniques to calm the nervous system! CMCC was unable to hold Backs in Motion as a public event this year. Each year, the event is an important fundraiser so the CMCC Board of Governors and friends, faculty and staff, elected to run independently for Backs in Motion 2.0, the Virtual Run on April 26. Together, they raised over $25, 000! CMCC Board Chair, Dr. Richard Mercier has provided us with bilingual videos in thanks to everyone for their efforts. CMCC is pleased to introduce Yoga Light Studio, which is offering to provide you with a free live stream yoga class on Wednesday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. EDT! The class will offer variations and modifications for all levels, no experience is required. Yoga Light Studio is even offering a complementary three-class pass to their online studio for all those who participate. As many of you are aware, CMCC has had to cancel Backs in Motion for 2020 due to concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19 and the directive from the Premier of Ontario that no events of 50 or more should take place. We are grateful to everyone who has registered, volunteered, sponsored, made a donation, or those of you who have set up personal fundraising pages.
