The new program with Comprehensive Integrated Pain Program (CIPP) at the University Health Network will have CMCC residents completing two-month rotations at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute. The residents will be performing assessments and providing treatment under the supervision of CIPP chiropractor Dr. Demetry Assimakopoulos. The first iteration of residents for this new partnership will begin in February 2020. CMCC and IFEC sign a Memorandum of Understanding

CMCC and the Institut Franco-Européen de Chiropraxie have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to Collaborate in Research and Education Activities We are excited to announce our newest Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and our second such international agreement. Dr. Pierre Côté founding member of GRA

CMCC Alumnus and Director of the UOIT-CMCC Centre for Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Dr. Pierre Côté has been named the founding member of Global Rehabilitation Alliance (GRA). The World Health Organization has identified a profound need for improved health care rehabilitation services for low to middle income countries and has created a partnership with the Alliance, which Côté will lead, following an election at the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Côté also holds the UOIT Canada Research Chair in Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation.

CMCC supports the Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign

CMCC was pleased to collaborate with the Newmarket Rotary to provide saplings to plant along the Highway of Heroes,  the road that brings fallen members of Canada’s Armed Forces along their final journey from  CFB Trenton to the Coroner’s Office in Toronto. The Highway of Heroes Tree campaign was created to plant two million trees along the 401 Highway of Heroes as a living memorial to the 117,000 who lost their lives for freedom.   On April 23, CMCC welcomed delegates from the Denmark Chiropractic Association and the Norwegian Chiropractic Association. The two groups stopped in Toronto, visiting CMCC,  the CCA and OCA on their way to Calgary for the CCA conference. They enjoyed a campus tour and lunch with members of the executive team. From Denmark, we welcomed: Chair Lone Kousgaard Jørgensen, Vice Michael Christensen, CEO Jakob Bjerre, CEO at NIKKB Henrik Wulff Christensen   And from Norway: Chair Jakob Lothe, Vice Espen Ohren, CEO Hans Otto Engvold  

Friends for Life Bike Rally

From July 30 to August 4, six CMCC interns will participate in a clinical outreach with the Friends for Life Bike Rally. The Friends for Life Bike Rally is a 6 day, 600 kilometer ride from Toronto to Montreal to raise money for the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation. It’s official! CMCC has its own place on the Exercise is Medicine website  in collaboration with the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences Canada [RCCSS(C)]. Exercise is Medicine Canada is a growing initiative with a mission “To provide national leadership in promoting primary care practitioners to assess and prescribe physical activity as a chronic disease prevention and management strategy to improve the health of Canadians.” This past October, CMCC and the RCCSS(C) hosted the MoveMoreChallenge. CMCC, U of T sign collaboration agreement

The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) have signed an official Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Toronto (U of T), through the Faculty of Medicine, Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education to explore education and research collaborations.
